The Sims 2 - Origin Ultimate Collection

We strongly recommend using the latest available version of The Sims 2, available on G4TW under the name 'The Sims 2 - Origin Ultimate Collection'. See this announcement here. The download already includes a number of extras that add more content as well as various tools for troubleshooting. As an optional extra, you can also grab the '4GB patch' here.

Download it, and after you fully installed The Sims 2 - Origin Ultimate Collection, extract with WinRAR double-click on the file '4gb_patch.exe'. When prompted, navigate under where you installed the game to, and then under Fun with Pets -> SP9 -> TSBin. Choose the Sims2EP9.exe and wait for the message 'executable successfully patched'. Close the 4GB patch then.
This little patch will make The Sims 2 be able to utilize up to 4GB of your total RAM, thereby potentially increasing the general game performance (note that having more RAM than that does not affect anything in The Sims 2: as the game is a 32-bit application, it can only use up to 4GB of the available computer's RAM).
Also note that this torrent is intended for use in Windows OS. We cannot tell if, and how, to make it work on other operating systems such as MAC OS or Linux...apart from using Windows partitions or virtual machines.

The .rar file/download already includes a detailed installation guide, but should you want to preview the install guide, you can download it from this link here.
I) 'Please insert disk 1' during installation of an expansion pack.
This is an error that was not apparent at the time we released the torrent intially (if it had been apparent, we would have included a notice in the install guide about it). However, you can find a solution on how to deal with the problem in this topic here.
II) Separate NoCD-files/what to do when you don't want to install all the DLC.
In general, we recommend you install ALL the expansions and stuffpacks, according to the included installation guide. However, should you really want to install only certain DLC, then this post here should give you an outline about what needs to be done.
III) Additional patches.
You can find a patch for Family Fun Stuff as well as for University Life, as those are not included in the actual Complete Collection-download.
IV) A brief note about graphics issues/settings.
